Data protection

Personal data is all information about personal or factual circumstances relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (data subject). We only collect the category of data that we need to contact you and process your request. This includes information such as name, address, email address, telephone number and department.

The processing of your personal data always takes place in accordance with the GDPR and in accordance with the country-specific data protection regulations applicable to Herbert Hänchen GmbH.

If you are interested in an employment relationship or the initiation of a business process, e.g. through your interest in our products and services or our interest in the products and services of the company you represent, personal data is collected, the processing of which is based on Art. 6 GDPR. If you or third parties provide us with your address, email address or telephone number, we will communicate with you via one or more of these channels, unless you object.

If there is no legal basis for such processing, we generally obtain your consent as the data subject in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.

If the processing of personal data is necessary for the performance of a contract or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures, the processing is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR.

If our company is subject to a legal obligation which requires the processing of personal data, such as to fulfil tax obligations, the processing is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR.

In order to protect the vital interests of the data subject or another natural person, the processing of personal data may be necessary in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. d GDPR. This would be the case, for example, if you as a visitor were injured in our company and your data would then have to be passed on to a doctor, a hospital or other third parties.

We carry out personal data processing operations for the purpose of direct advertising for our products and services based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR if we have a legitimate interest and your interests, fundamental rights and fundamental freedoms as a data subject do not override this. In doing so, we rely on recital Art. 47 GDPR, taking into account § 7 para. 3 UWG, which allows us, for example, to write to customers even without their consent, provided that the goods or services are similar to those of Herbert Hänchen GmbH and the customer has not objected.

If the processing of personal data is based on Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR, our legitimate interest is the implementation of our business activities for the benefit of the well-being of all our employees and our shareholders.

The use of the Herbert Hänchen GmbH website is generally possible without providing any personal data.

Due to legal regulations (e.g. tax regulations) or contractual regulations (e.g. information on the contractual partner), the provision of your personal data may be necessary. As the data subject, you may be obliged to provide Herbert Hänchen GmbH with personal data if we conclude a contract. Failure to provide personal data would mean that the contract with you as the data subject could not be concluded.

In individual cases, our data protection officer can inform you whether the provision of your data is required by law or contract or is necessary for the conclusion of the contract, whether there is an obligation to provide it and what consequences the failure to provide your data would have.

Cookies are text files that are stored on your hard drive via an internet browser. However, these cannot be used to read data or files on your computer.

By using cookies, Herbert Hänchen GmbH is able to recognise internet browsers and analyse the use of the internet pages, on the basis of which we make them more user-friendly. All data collected in this way is not assigned to individual users and is evaluated exclusively for statistical purposes.

Most browsers accept cookies automatically. You can prevent the setting of cookies at any time via the browser settings and thus permanently object to the setting of cookies. Furthermore, cookies that have already been set can be deleted. If cookies are deactivated, not all functions of our website may be fully usable.

With each visit to the Herbert Hänchen GmbH website by a data subject, a series of general data and information is recorded and stored in the server's log files. The browser types and versions used, the operating system used, the website from which you visit us, the sub-pages that are accessed, the date and time of access to the website, your IP address and internet service provider, and other similar data and information used for security purposes in the event of attacks on our systems may be recorded.

This information is necessary to be able to correctly provide the content of our website. This data is not evaluated for statistical purposes; the individual user remains anonymous. When data is passed on to external service providers, technical and organisational measures are taken to ensure that data protection regulations are observed.

If you contact us by email, via the contact form on the website or the Hänchen Configurator HäKo https://haeko.haenchen.de, your details, including the contact details you provide, will be stored by us for processing the enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. The personal data that is transmitted is apparent from the input mask used or from your email signature.

If you use one of our contact forms, your details will be encrypted during electronic transmission. To protect your data, we use a secure online transfer procedure, the so-called "Secure Socket Layer" (SSL) transfer.

Users of the Hänchen Configurator HäKo https://haeko.haenchen.de have the option of contacting our company directly. The personal data that is transmitted is apparent from the input mask used.

a)    Enquiries without setting up a customer account
For price and CAD enquiries via the HäKo, all data required for execution and processing is requested and stored using mandatory fields.

b)    Customer account / Registration
You have the option of creating a customer account in the HäKo. To do this, you can choose a password together with your email address, both of which enable you to save configurations and comments and generate price and CAD enquiries during a later visit. Hänchen stores the data you enter to set up a customer account in order to process any enquiries. In addition, the date and time of registration and the last login are saved. This data is stored to prevent misuse of our services. Registered individuals are free to change the personal data provided during registration at any time or to delete the Hänchen customer account and its content. For complete deletion of your personal data mentioned in the registration form, please contact our data protection officer.

c)    Security
We encrypt your password and the information stored in your customer account in accordance with the current state of the art. Herbert Hänchen GmbH assumes no liability for damage to the respective Hänchen customer account caused by misuse by the account holder in handling his access data, in particular the password.

d)    Access authorisation
Herbert Hänchen GmbH is entitled to withdraw access authorisation without prior notice; this can occur, for example, if:

• the information provided in the registration form is not true,
• the user misuses the information provided or impairs its functionality,
• the duty of care in handling the access data provided has been violated.

As a customer of Hänchen, you may receive emails from us at irregular intervals, informing you about current news and information related to the products you have purchased from us. You can object to this use of your data for direct advertising at any time with effect for the future; please use the link in the respective email or contact our data protection officer.

The emails generated by us for direct advertising contain so-called tracking pixels. If you have consented to our tracking when registering for the newsletter, Herbert Hänchen GmbH can use these tracking pixels to recognise whether and when an email was opened by a data subject and which links in the email were accessed by the data subject. We store and evaluate the data collected in this way in order to better adapt the content of future direct advertising to the interests of the target group. You are entitled to object to this tracking at any time; please contact our data protection officer to do so.

Employees of Herbert Hänchen GmbH use your personal data to process your enquiry and make the requested information accessible to you. In some cases, it is also necessary to forward the information you have provided to one of our subsidiaries or sales partners if they are responsible for the enquiry you have made. Data is only transferred to third countries if the data subject acts for a company based outside the European Union (EU) and the transfer is necessary due to pre-contractual measures in accordance with Art. 49 Para. 1 lit. b.

Your data will not be transmitted to third parties outside this Hänchen Group, unless we are legally obliged to do so or you have expressly consented to the disclosure of your data beforehand. External service providers and partner companies only receive your data to the extent that this is necessary for processing a business relationship. In these cases, however, the scope of the data transmitted is limited to the minimum required.

If the purpose of storage no longer applies or if a storage period prescribed by law expires, the personal data is routinely blocked or deleted. Please note that with every deletion, the data is initially only blocked and only finally deleted with a time delay due to technical reasons.

Incoming applications by email or via the application form on our website are stored in an electronic application system at Herbert Hänchen GmbH for the application process.

This website uses Google Analytics, this web service does not use any personal data. No data is read or stored on the website visitor's end device. The IP address of the website visitor is anonymised. It is not possible to recognise the website visitor beyond the website. Cookies are not set, any existing cookies are technically necessarily transmitted, but also not used. The web analysis enables the website operator to record and analyse the use of this website by website visitors. The website operator receives various usage data, such as usage time, page views, time spent on the site, operating systems used or screen resolution used.

The anonymised analysis data is transferred via this server to the Google Analytics web analysis service without the use of personal data of the website visitor and is usually stored there on a Google server in the USA. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. It is not possible to create profiles or link this anonymised analysis data with other sources. In order to draw attention to our services, we place Google AdWords ads in the search engine results of Google (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) for the purpose of personalised, interest-based and location-based online advertising.

Herbert Hänchen GmbH generally does not use conversion cookies, therefore deactivating this type of cookie is not necessary for our website.

In general, you can deactivate cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain "googleadservices.com". Furthermore, it is possible to object to interest-based advertising by Google. To do this, call up the link from Google to the advertising settings in the internet browser used and make the desired settings.

Our website uses iFrames that point to the YouTube page operated by Google (YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA). If you visit one of our websites equipped with a YouTube iFrame and have agreed to the associated cookie, a connection is established to the YouTube servers, from which a representation of the corresponding YouTube components is automatically downloaded. We have activated the "extended data protection mode" for all our videos, so no information about your visit to our website will be transmitted to YouTube unless you watch the video.

YouTube can only personally assign the information about which of our websites you visit, provided they contain a YouTube video, if you are logged into YouTube at the same time as playing the video. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

The YouTube icon included in the sitemap is not a plugin. Therefore, YouTube does not receive any information about which of our websites you have visited. YouTube only receives information about which of our sub-pages you have used to access YouTube when you click on this icon link.

As a subsidiary of Google LLC, based in 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, California, USA, YouTube LLC has certification according to the EU-US Privacy Shield (to be found under the search term "Google"). The Privacy Shield is an agreement between the European Union (EU) and the USA that is intended to guarantee compliance with European data protection standards in the USA.

During our event (such as trade fairs, company celebrations, etc.), photo and film recordings may be made in order to subsequently use them for presentation, in particular on our websites and our social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and for printed advertising material for the purpose of advertising our own services.

We would like to point out that information on the internet is accessible worldwide, can be found with search engines and linked to other information, which may be used to create personal profiles. Information placed on the internet, including photos, can be easily copied and distributed, and there are specialised archiving services whose aim is to permanently document the state of certain websites on certain dates. This can lead to information published on the internet continuing to be found elsewhere even after it has been deleted from the original page.

We would also like to point out that, according to current information, photos and data on Facebook cannot be deleted at all, but are only no longer shown publicly. There is currently insufficient information about Facebook's internal use of photos and data - for example, to create personality profiles. 

We use technical and organisational security measures to protect your data managed by us against manipulation, loss, destruction and against access by unauthorised persons. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments. Your data, which you provide to us via a contact form, is transmitted in encrypted form using standard transmission methods on the internet.

To protect internal information from the internet, we have a firewall (security software). In addition, only employees who need the information to perform a specific task are granted access to personal information. These employees are trained in security and data protection and treat your data confidentially.

You should never pass on your password for a customer account in the Hänchen configurator HäKo to third parties and change it regularly.
