All types of Ratio-Clamp® clamping unit can be attached to hydraulic cylinders. For this purpose, the piston rod of the cylinder must be extended according to the length of the clamping unit.
The Ratio-Clamp® clamping unit is mounted on hydraulic cylinders via an intermediate flange.
When mounting a Ratio-Clamp® clamping unit on a hydraulic cylinder in the HäKo, the selection of the mounting parts and the extension of the piston rod are carried out automatically.
In the HäKo, the Ratio-Clamp® clamping unit can be mounted on the following cylinder series:
When using the Ratio-Clamp® with a cylinder from the 300 or 550 series, the cylinder force may be greater than the holding load of the Ratio-Clamp®.
This is particularly important when selecting the mounting of the cylinder:
When the actuator is mounted on the Ratio-Clamp®, the force flow occurs through the flange connection between the cylinder and the Ratio-Clamp®. However, this is only designed for the max. holding load.
When mountings of the actuator are directly on the cylinder body, such as with articulated mounting, the full cylinder force can be applied when the Ratio-Clamp® is released.
This must be taken into account during design and operation to ensure that the Ratio-Clamp® is not overloaded and the rod can slip through if necessary.
When using the Ratio-Clamp® with a cylinder from the 300 or 550 series, the working pressure in the cylinder can exceed the permissible pressure on the Ratio-Clamp®.
Please note that the releasing pressure of the Ratio-Clamp® may be reduced to the permissible value of 160 bar. A pressure reducing valve, for example, can be used for this purpose.
The control block can be used to control the Ratio-Clamp® clamping unit. This can also ensure the pressure reduction to the Ratio-Clamp®.
