Products with proximity switches
Proximity switches in hydraulic cylinders detect the final stroke positions. In the Ratio-Clamp® clamping unit, the proximity switch detects the locked or released clamping status.

Remove proximity switch
- Remove connector from the proximity switch.
- Loosen lock nut [2].
- Unscrew proximity switch [1].
Mount proximity switch
- Moisten the o-ring with support ring [4] on the proximity switch [1] with operating fluid.
- Screw proximity switch [1] into the threaded hole on the Hänchen product.
- Unless otherwise specified, screw in proximity switch [1] until it stops mechanically and then turn it back 1/4 of a turn.
- Tighten lock nut [2] with max. 70 Nm.
Replace sealing elements on the proximity switch
If the o-ring with support ring is damaged, it is recommended to replace the entire proximity switch.
Replace o-ring [5] on eccentric retaining nut as follows (only for clamping unit):
- Remove connector from the proximity switch [1].
- Remove the proximity switch [1] (is not absolutely necessary).
- Unscrew eccentric retaining nut [3] and replace o-ring [5].
- Moisten o-ring [5] with operating fluid and screw eccentric retaining nut [3] back in.
- Set the switching status by turning the eccentric retaining nut.
- If necessary, mount the proximity switch [1] again.
