The piston rod material 42CrMo4V hard-chrome plated with material number 1.7225 is suitable for use in highly dynamic applications.

Due to the high strength of the material, very high forces can also be transmitted, for example for small connection threads with large piston rods.

During hard-chrome plating, the chrome layer is applied in a particularly thick layer after pre-honing and then finish-honed. The layer thickness depends on the rod diameter and has a hardness of over 800 HV.

Hard-chrome plated piston rods can be used between -30 °C and 200 °C.
